Depending on your version of Android, the setting you need to change will either be called Unknown Sources or Unknown Apps. Both essentially do the same thing. The major change is that in current versions of Android and Android TV, you can enable or disable this setting for each individual app, which is awesome. For example, that means that if you want to enable it for Aptoide TV, but disable it for File Commander, you can do that.
There are only two settings to change in this sub-menu: Unknown Sources and Verify Apps. Click on Unknown Sources to continue. Simply flip the toggle until it changes to blue to enable it, or flip it to gray to disable it. Current versions of Android will let you do this from within the app.
As far as permissions goes, this is about as simple as you can get. It needs this permission so it can install files. Once you click out of that box, the main Home screen is a simple search box that lets you enter a URL or search term. Until recently, you could only enter a URL into this field. However, in July , it was integrated with Google Search so you can actually enter in a keyword to search for. If you get more to speak up and do something in ways that make a difference, cool.
I use only open source applications on all my computers and phones now, Windows lifer convert. Never been happier now I study programming and coding. I owned the first Droid that came out, several since. I watched having 3g. Now with 4g LTE, limited data, little music is all. Never two apps at the same time without my battery dead by noon, even not using it once in hours.
Google claims Android is not Linux, but that it is open source, as they support that; Nothing can be further from the truth. I now could care less about any smart phone, tablet either. None are ever worth the money. I pay for data for my use, not theirs. App2SD installs but fails with - The device does not have a real primary external storage, or the primary external is emulated. Links2SD installs but fails with - Because your device has primary external storage which is emulated from external storage.
Are there any solutions where I can use my ext Sd card? Last edited: Nov 17, I've looked around some of the files Show Box uses, but couldn't find anything useful hardcoded, in terms of download location.
If it isn't fudgable via the suggested methods above, maybe try contacting the author s? Hi, yes, I tried both and many more of these kitkat patches, most failed install with insufficient storage, your first one installed and ran but made no difference. I think the problem is the way the droidbox base rom deals with memory. It appears that there are several ways memory is managed, one is primary storage "emulated" from the internal storage, and the other primary storage "non-emulated" from internal storage.
Please get the rom developers to look at this? Nexus 10 is the device reported if the build. If you're happy to tweak a little, you could ask the App2SD author s which devices are reported as compatible, and amend the build.
This should be permanent, at least until you flash a new firmware. My original query was — how do I change the Show Box download location to my sd card? Show Box has been requested many times to implement this — no luck so far. For example, my down load speed is less that 3Mbps, so just watching a show means major buffering issues whereas being able to download and watch it later is my best option.
As a workaround for this problem I looked at many apps that allowed apps to be transferred to my external SD card or incorporate the sd card memory to expanded the droidbox memory. Can you do this? I would really appreciate a reply!
Sorry for the delay, I was on a short holiday. I think the issue is partially KitKat as opposed to JellyBean based. I can put in a request to the firmware developers, but there is no guarantee they'll sort it.
