All by itself, Norton Internet Security would pop up a notification that it blocked an adware attack from the Nexus site. I googled this and confirmed that others encountered the same thing when leaving the Nexus web page open for a while.

While other programs and services kept complaining about the previous adware attack for awhile listing Nexus as potentially dangerous site , Norton newer properly cleaned it's database. It rarely does clean DB properly, so it keeps complaining and complaingin and complaining, when ever it finds a thread that might lead back to previously recorded problem.
I trust all active F-secure programs more than Norton. They list Nexus as currently clean site, with previously recorded problems that were not coming from the their own servers.
That is more than good enough for me. Personally, if I could choose only one bit of software to "secure" my machine, I'd take Adblock Plus. The vast majority of malware these days comes from malicious ad banners - and because these are seeded to a large variaty of websites via central repositories, you can't really trust them anywhere.
By never loading the banners in the first place, you don't have to worry about whether you're vulnerable to them. It should never be possible for a website to install and run software on your PC without your express permission.
I also consider keeping those things up to date more important than conventional "antivirus" packages. Kingil View Profile View Posts. Originally posted by Bomb Bloke :. Last edited by Sammicat ; 25 Dec, pm. Originally posted by Zefram Cochrane :.

I have been able to download some of the mods but the better ones take me to a login page in which I have to purchase a package to login. Why is this? I saw other people saying on this threads how great the mods are and I highly doubt everyone payed membership to the mod site Last edited by Epidot ; 21 Nov, pm.

Just don't click any of the payment options when you register then you don't have to pay just carry on the registration process and crete an account. First one I tried to download it told me error. Thought I had to pay too. But then tried a different mod and downloaded without issue. So probably the file you are trying to download is still uploading to the free server and you'll have to check back later, unless you want to pay for dibs.
Well i tried multiple free servers and they all took me to the error page asking for login Nergui View Profile View Posts.
Large mods require a login. Small ones do not. Registration is free, downloads are free.
